QSIP: Support for Learning Diversity (QSIP-SLD)

“QSIP: Support for Learning Diversity” (QSIP-SLD) was a comprehensive school-based support programme that facilitated schools in planning, implementing and evaluating actions at multi-levels – school, curriculum, instructional, group, and student – to address learner diversity. Commissioned and funded by the Education Bureau, QSIP-SLD operated from the 2010/11 to 2015/16 school year, providing professional support to 223 primary and secondary schools in batches, with each collaboration lasting one year.

To achieve its objectives, QSIP-SLD focused on building consensus and a common language among the school’s teaching team, followed by collaborating with teachers in various subject departments to develop and try-out strategies at both curriculum and instructional levels. Through enhancing teachers’ repertoire of practices, teachers’ confidence and professional capacity in catering for learner diversity were strengthened. The team also assisted schools in developing and enhancing school-level measures and student support strategies to address learner diversity, while institutionalising successful experiences to promote continuous improvement at all levels.
